POSITION OBJECTIVE:


The position of Technology Hardware responsible for maintaining and managing the technological infrastructure within an organization to the Bellevue School District.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.)

 

• Assets Receipt: Receive, inspect, barcode, catalog, and document incoming IT assets, which may include computers, servers, peripherals, and other technology equipment. Ensure accurate recording of asset details.

• Asset Tracking: Tracking and managing IT assets throughout their lifecycle. This involves updating databases, using asset tracking software, and conducting regular audits to reconcile physical inventory with database records.

• Warehouse Oversight: Manage the technology warehouse including inventory, storage, and organization.

• Repair Management: Coordinate and oversee the repair process for damaged or malfunctioning IT assets. This includes collaborating with technicians, external vendors, or service providers to ensure efficient support and timely and effective repairs.

• End Of Life Management: Develop and execute processes for the proper disposal or recycling of obsolete or decommissioned IT assets.

o Ensure secure data wiping or destruction procedures for retired assets to safeguard sensitive information. This is crucial to prevent data breaches and maintain compliance with privacy regulations.
o Collaborate with external vendors or service providers for disposal, and recycling.

• Documentation: Maintain detailed records of each asset's history, including repairs, upgrades, and end-of-life processes. Accurate documentation is essential for compliance, audits, and future decision-making.

• Provides additional technology support when needed.

• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

  

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:


• Reports directly to and is supervised by Technology Support Manager

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (positions in this class typically require):

 

Required:

• Previous experience in IT asset management, inventory management, or a related field
• Proficiency in using asset management and tools for tracking and managing hardware assets.
• Familiarity with hardware procurement process, lifecycle management, and disposal procedures.
• Previous experience in repair of computers, mobile and peripheral devices.
• Attain and maintain required certifications to service and support computer hardware.
• 2-3 years of relevant experience in hardware asset management or a related field.

 

Preferred:

• Associate's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• A+ Certification

 

Allowable Substitutions:

• Additional related experience may substitute for the educational requirement

 

LICENSING REQUIREMENTS (positions in this class typically require):


• None

 

KNOWLEDGE (position requirements at entry):


• Knowledge of computer systems, hardware and peripherals
• Knowledge of digital multimeters and other computer repair tools
• Understand the stages of hardware lifecycle, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, upgrades, and disposal
• Knowledge in tracking and managing hardware inventory, including asset tagging, recording specifications, and monitoring usage
• Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suites
• Knowledge of general trouble-shooting techniques for software, hardware and network systems

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

Positions in this class typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.

 

Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

 

Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, odors, chemicals, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, and intense noises.


CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

CTSA Professional Technical salary classification level 2 $ 68,030 to $ 71,610 (starting at $68,030) 40 hours per week, for a 260-day annual assignment. Medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, and life-insurance eligibility is based upon 630 hours worked within a school year. Retirement provided through Washington State Department of Retirement Systems.  Other benefits include vacation and paid holidays.
