POSITION OBJECTIVE:

 

This position is responsible for performing varied work in the Technology Department, moving, hauling, installing, testing, and repairing computer equipment. Assist with laptop maintenance, imaging, etching, and testing. The Summer Technical Support will work with departments and schools within the district.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.)

  • Work in one or more of the following areas, as required:
  • Assist with installation and repair work on Technology Department equipment;
  • Setting up computers, printers, and preparing laptops for the next school year;
  • Work will take place in various locations at schools and central offices.
  • Performing one or more of the following, as required:
  • Laptop setup, repair, and imaging;
  • Computer and printer installation;
  • Load/unload materials, supplies, and equipment;
  • Operate simple power equipment and tools;
  • Perform other related work as required.

 

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Reports directly to and is supervised by the Technology Field Supervisor.

 

LICENSING REQUIREMENTS (positions in this class typically require):

  • Possess a valid Washington State Driver’s license (preferred).

 

KNOWLEDGE (position requirements at entry):

  • Basic laptop operation and Windows 8 and 10 controls and commands;
  • Experience in working with laptop and desktop computers preferred;
  • Common methods, practices and materials used in a technical environment and the use and care of appropriate tools as needed.

 

SKILLS (position requirements at entry):

  • Ability to have excellent attention to detail and can follow detailed instructions.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs independently and over 40 lbs with assistance;
  • Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions;
  • Ability to work as part of a cooperative effort;
  • Ability to perform all duties in accordance with applicable Board policies and district and legal requirements;
  • Ability to meet and maintain punctuality and attendance expectations.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

Positions in this class typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. This position may be exposed to prolonged exposure to visual display terminals as required.

 

Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, odors, chemicals, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, and intense noises.

 

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

 

This is a temporary hourly position at an hourly rate of $ 18.00, July 1, 2024 until August 23, 2024, up to 8 hours/day, 7:30am – 3:30pm, Monday through Friday. Days, assignment length, and hours may vary depending upon assignment.  This position is not eligible for benefits.
